Face: Rhinoplasty

Facial Rejuvenation - rhinoplasty

Advances in rhinoplasty.

Commonly known as a ‘nose job’, rhinoplasty surgery is today a precise and predictable procedure performed in day surgery with fast and simple recovery. Use of computer imaging* before surgery helps patients to reduce uncertainty by choosing the shape of nose that best suits their face.

Despite recent advances, rhinoplasty and secondary rhinoplasty remains a delicate procedure that challenges even the most experienced surgeons to obtain the best results, for this reason it should only be performed by an experienced surgeon.

Why choose rhinoplasty.

One of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed, a rhinoplasty can dramatically, yet subtly, improve a patient’s overall facial appearance and therefore confidence.

An attractice nose is simply one that does not detract from the overall facial appearance.
A rhinoplasty is usually done to reduce the overall size of the nose and correct individual features such as a hump on the bridge and a ball like or drooped tip.

How the surgery is performed.

Rhinoplasty is performed using an inconspicuous, small incision across the skin between the nostrils. Dr Mendelson routinely reinforces the tip and strengthens the internal valve to ensure a stronger nose with an improved airway and a lasting result. Additional time is given to remodeling the delicate cartilages on the tip of the nose and the surgery is not complete until Dr Mendelson is satisfied that the final shape closely matches the computer image.

Who will benefit from this procedure?

Rhinoplasty is suited to people of all ages to refine their nose so that the regal, natural attractiveness of the face is revealed. Some people choose to change their nose shape not because it is large or ugly, but because they feel as though they have the ‘wrong nose’ for their face.
